ASK And UN Discussed Prospects For Future Cooperation

A meeting was held between the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation (ASK) and the United Nations Office in Azerbaijan on the prospects of future cooperation.

In the meeting was also attended by ASK President, Mammad Musayev and UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Ghulam Isaczai.

Musayev said that the Confederation is a social partner of the state. It has bilateral councils of cooperation between several government agencies and the ASK. “This cooperation is a dialogue platform and aims to ensure that entrepreneurs are involved in economic regulation and decision-making.”

The ASK President briefed on the draft laws submitted for discussion in a joint commission with the Government of Azerbaijan, the Joint Collective Agreement, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, and the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation.

He also emphasized the positive results of the Confederation’s cooperation with the United Nations, the International Labor Organization, the Population Fund and the FAO.

Deputy General Secretary- Kristina Mammadova, answered the questions of the guests about the activities of the ASK members, their representatives in the region and abroad.

Ghulam Isaczai mentioned that the UN is preparing a plan of action in Azerbaijan for the next 5 years. He expressed satisfaction with Mammad Musayev’s cooperation with the ILO and other bodies, and suggested to expand cooperation with the ASK.

“As a UN, we are also reforming the organization. We strive for more active participation in sustainable development reforms. All efforts in the country should be mobilized for sustainable development. The level of development we expect will bring different results for different countries. We would like to expand our relations with the private sector and prepare a framework.”

Isaczai suggested the establishment of a working group to develop a joint plan of cooperation between the ASK and the UN.

Musayev noted that the ASK is ready to cooperate to contribute to the development of the Azerbaijani economy and entrepreneurship.
