Online meeting of the ASK Commission on Tourism and Services was held
On April 21, an online meeting of the Tourism and Services Commission operating under the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held. Vice-President of the ASK Vugar Zeynalov, Head of the Tourism Policy and Strategy Department at State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mahammad Muradov, Head of the Office for Organization of Activities on Administrative Territorial Units of the SMB Friend (“KOB Dostu”) Department at Small and Medium Business Development Agency Adil Ahmadov, President of “Scal International Baku” Jeyhun Ashurov, Chairman of DAİR Samir Dubandi, Chairman of ATTA Rufat Hajiyev, Chairman of the Expert Council Goydaniz Gahramanov, Chairman of AZTA Ahmad Gurbanov, heads of various tourism companies and hotels attended the meeting moderated by the President of the Azerbaijan Health and Thermal Tourism Support Association Ruslan Guliyev.
The meeting discussed the impact of the pandemic COVID-19 virus on tourism and the current situation, the attitude to the implementation of the Action Plan of paragraph 10.2 of Order of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No.1950 dated March 19, 2020 “On a number of measures to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and, consequently, sharp fluctuations in world energy and stock markets on the economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, macroeconomic stability, employment and entrepreneurship”, the importance of public-private partnership, the development of tourism in the post-pandemic period.
At the meeting, which continued with interesting discussions, government officials spoke about the mechanism of state support for entrepreneurs during the pandemic. Representatives of the private sector also informed about the current problems and situation of the tourism enterprises they represent, as well as they discussed the optimal ways out of the situation. At the end of the meeting, government officials answered questions from company owners and gave their recommendations to entrepreneurs.
