The ASK participated in meeting of “The Working Group on Employment and Social Affairs”

Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed order approving composition of working groups to reduce negative impact of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and, consequently, sharp fluctuations in world energy and stock markets on economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, macroeconomic stability, employment and entrepreneurship. The National Entrepreneurs (Employers) Confederation of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK) participates in two of four working groups.

The first meeting of working group was held today headed by Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Sahil Babayev. The meeting was attended by ASK President, Mammad Musayev and ASK Head of the Legal and Social Partnership Department, Khagan Hummatzade.

S.Babayev noted that comprehensive measures have taken under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev to prevent the pandemic, protect population from infection, as well as reduce negative impact of the pandemic on national economy. He emphasized that one of the main priorities of these measures is to solve employment problems and social problems that may arise in the country due to possible negative impact of the pandemic on national economy.

The meeting discussed draft Action Plan to reduce the negative impact of the pandemic and its consequences on employment.

At the same time, importance of preventing unjustified reduction of number of employees by employers in the current situation was emphasized, and mechanisms of action for this purpose were widely discussed.

In this regard, on behalf of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the National Entrepreneurs (Employers) Confederation and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, it was decided to notify employers (via the “Employment Contract Notification” subsystem).

It should be noted that members of the Working Group include the Chief of the State Migration Service, Deputy Minister of Economy, Deputy Minister of Finance, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Deputy Chairman of the State Statistics Committee, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank, State Agency for Small and Medium Business Development Chairman of the Board, President of the National Entrepreneurs (Employers) Confederation, Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan.
