ASK participated in the video conference of the “Women Entrepreneurs Council”
A video conference of the “Women Entrepreneurs Council” organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO CCI) was held on June 16 this year. Vice-President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jala Hajiyeva, Acting Secretary General Kristina Mammadova and Head of ASK Business Consulting Shabnam Nuriyeva attended the conference.
ECO CCI Secretary General Adem Kula welcomed the participants with an opening speech. Seyedeh Fatemeh Moghimi, Chairwoman of the ECO CCI Woman Entrepreneurs Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, noted that Iran had suffered serious losses in all areas as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pakistan’s FPCCI spokeswoman Syeda Maryam Zaidi said the country was facing problems and working closely with the government.
According to Zerrin Ozel, a representative of the Turkish Woman Entrepreneurs Council, they organized online trainings for women entrepreneurs living in different regions during the pandemic and implemented a successful project with Turkcell.
Vice President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan Jala Hajiyeva said that communication issues remained relevant during the quarantine period, problems in the business sphere were promptly reported to the government and a package of proposals was prepared. She also noted that online webinars on various topics were organized to stimulate ASK members.
It was noted in the video conference that during this period, along with SMEs, micro-entrepreneurs also suffered serious losses and faced difficulties in paying salaries. The ASK supported all its members and used all possible means to solve their problems. At the same time, work has been done to strengthen international corporate ties. Information was provided on the program for women and their support in the region, the organization of online B2B meetings, the implementation of a self-employment project for people with disabilities.
Dinara Allabergen, Director of the Atameken Foundation for Sustainable Development, spoke about the challenges facing Kazakhstan, projects implemented to support women entrepreneurs and online trainings.
Asel Atabekova, chairwoman of the CCI Kyrgyzstan Woman Entrepreneurship Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, said that 85% of the light industry in the country is formed by women entrepreneurs, and therefore a conference on “Women entrepreneurs in the pandemic – challenges and solutions” was held.
Representative of Turkmenistan Gunel Babanefesova and representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Saodat Tursunbeyova also spoke about the difficulties in their countries, as well as the organization of trainings on online marketing, financial literacy and information technology.
At the end, Acting Secretary General of the ASK Kristina Mammadova thanked and suggested that such meetings be continued.
The proposal was welcomed by ECO CCI Secretary General Adem Kula and other participants.
In conclusion, ECO CCI Secretary General Adem Kula and Turkish Woman Entrepreneurs Council representative Zerrin Ozel thanked everyone for their participation.
