A Forum On “Strengthening The Activities Of Business Associations” Was Held

An online forum on “Strengthening the activities of business associations” organized by the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on November 17.

The representatives of Azerbaijan Banks Association, Azerbaijan Microfinance Association, Association of Manufacturers of Building Materials of Azerbaijan, Quality Association, Association of Grain Producers and Processors, Study of Economic Resources Public Union, Ganja Entrepreneurs Association, Women Entrepreneurs Public Union, Azerbaijan Rural Women’s Association, Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and other public associations attended the forum held as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The forum began with an opening speech by Vice President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation Vugar Zeynalov. First of all, congratulations were expressed on the victory in the Patriotic War, and the responsibilities of business organizations in this proud period of our glorious history of statehood and independence were discussed. The importance of successful business associations for economic development was stressed.

Experiences were shared so that business support organizations could be more sectoral as well as more entrepreneurial in terms of efficiency. The leaders of the associations were heard and asked to send information in writing to the Confederation about the existing difficulties in the field they represent. Stressing that the ASK serves as an umbrella for business associations, Vice President of the Confederation Vugar Zeynalov said that this information will be brought to the attention of relevant government agencies.

Yunus Abdulov, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Banks Association, made a presentation on “Instruments to be used for the development of a successful association: tools for business development.” Then, Vice President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation Jala Hajiyeva shared her experience on “Criteria for measuring successful business associations.”

Representatives of the association, represented at the discussion session, touched upon membership policy and business services on financial support. They exchanged views on the status of non-governmental organizations, registration procedures, development of business strategies, platform for cooperation with associations.

It should be noted that the ASK will present a series of seminars to its members on November 24-27 to strengthen the activities of business associations.
