Virtual Entrepreneurship Fair Is Organized

The Azerbaijan Microfinance Association (AMFA) and the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation (ASK) are pleased to announce the opening of Virtual Entrepreneurship Fair financed by European Union “Accelerating the Development of Sustainable Micro Entrepreneurship in the regions of Azerbaijan” (ADSMIRRA). 

The main purpose of the Entrepreneurship Fair is to inform producers, suppliers, consumers and government agencies and to form relationships among them. The fair will provide an opportunity to demonstrate more than 500 products from 100 entrepreneurs engaged in 15 distinct activities (including beekeeping, poultry, livestock, tailoring, canning, preparation of flour-based products, fruit drying, handicrafts, weaving, carpet-weaving, etc.). By showing these products virtually, entrepreneurs (manufacturers) will be able to communicate with interested partners and obtain a chance to learn more about the latest technologies, methods and applications. In addition, producers carry out the exchanging information process from farmer to farmer by sharing common problems and expectations.

At the event, Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Azerbaijan Excellency Ambassador Mr. Kestutis Jankauskas, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Mammad Musayev, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Microfinance Association Mr. Jalal Aliyev, Head of the Small-Medium Business Development Agency Mr. Orkhan Mammadov, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Mrs. Ramila Seyidova, Department of Sustainability and Social Development of the Islamic Development Bank, Chief Specialist for Women’s Development Kristonia Lockhart, Deputy Director of Polish Microfinance Center (MFC) participation is expected. 

Recalling that, the overall goal of the ADSMIRRA project is to support the establishment and development of micro-enterprises to underpin the decent wage and job creation of the population situating in the regions. The specific aim of the project is to strengthen the capacity of rural micro-enterprises in the Ganja-Gazakh, Guba-Khacmaz, Sheki-Zagatala and Kur-Araz (Aran) economic regions to facilitate market opportunities and build or expand their business by providing capital.
