The meeting on January 8 discussed ways to further expand economic ties between two countries and increase cooperation between private sector entrepreneurs. The President of the Confederation noted that fruitful cooperation has been established between Iran’s large business support organizations and the ASK. Mammad Musayev noted that most of the liberated territories fell on the border with Iran and Azerbaijan, which created ample opportunities for investment in those territories.

In turn, Mousavi said relations were at a high level as a result of the wise policy of the two heads of state, and his main activity as ambassador would be to expand economic ties between the two countries. He stressed that the establishment of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan will increase efforts to establish the activities of the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Chamber of Commerce more effectively. According to the Ambassador, before arriving in Azerbaijan, he visited four provinces of Iran bordering on Azerbaijan, where he met with entrepreneurs, heads of chambers of commerce and industry, as well as the leadership of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture. Iranian entrepreneurs have expressed great interest in establishing relations with Azerbaijan. At the same time, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi noted that the meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission to be held in Tehran on January 18-19 will contribute to the development of economic relations.

He said there were ample opportunities to establish relations with companies operating in the regions bordering Azerbaijan, and at the same time, they were preparing to hold specialized exhibitions. He proposed the establishment of joint ventures for the transportation of Iranian products by land, rail and sea.

ASK President Mammad Musayev said that 2020 was a difficult year for the world economy, but it maintained the economic stability of our country and ended the 30-year occupation. He said that the high political friendly relations established by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with neighboring countries played a great role in the development of economic relations.
