A new chairman of ASK Commission on work with Science, Education and Vocational Education Institutions has been elected
A video conference meeting of the Commission on work with Science, Education and Vocational Education Institutions within the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK) was held on July 27. At the meeting an organizational issues were resolved and discussions were held in order to determine the agenda of the next meeting.
Opening the commission meeting, ASK Vice President Vugar Zeynalov said that the Confederation has been a social partner of the state since 2001 and signs a General Collective Agreement with the government every two years. As a representative for entrepreneurs operating in Azerbaijan, the ASK supports reforms to protect their interests, as well as to improve the business environment for economic development. In order to represent the interests of business, the ASK has 14 sectorial commissions. The goal of the Commission on work with Science, Education and Vocational Education is to summarize the real situation in the education sector and to present it to the government’s attention, as well as to contribute to accelerating the process of integration of entrepreneurship into education in Azerbaijan.
“We suggest that entrepreneurs put forward some of the topics of the course and diploma works. The innovations invented in educational institutions should be presented to entrepreneurs, as well as relevant scientific institutions should be involved in conducting the necessary research, ” Zeynalov said, he stressed the concerns of entrepreneurs and noted that higher education graduates do not satisfy of entrepreneurs as a staff and there are need to create a serious turnaround in the vocational education sector.
Stressing that the work of the commission on these and other issues will be productive, ASK Vice-president made proposals to elect a chairman of the commission.
The rector of the Azerbaijan State Economic University (UNEC) Adalat Muradov was elected chairman of the commission by the proposals and voting of the participants.
A.Muradov thanked for the confidence and said that adapting university education to the requirements of the real economy is the most important issue of the education system currently. “This commission will play a bridge role between educational institutions in the real sector,” Muradov said and brought to the attention of the participants several issues related to student internship programs.
The head of Azersun Academy which operates under Azersun Holding Jalal Eynullayev, noted proposals of vocational education graduates to increase the effectiveness of internship programs and vocational training.
It should be noted that Vice-Rector of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy Fariz Ismayilzadeh, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Vocational Education Elnur Nasibov, Head of the Vocational Orientation and Employment Cooperation Department of the State Agency for Vocational Education Zamin Badirkhanov, experts on education Zakir Ahmadov, Manafaddin Namazov, entrepreneurs and ASK representatives were participated.
