The 18th General Assembly of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Economic Cooperation Organization was held
On October 19, 2020, the 18th General Assembly of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Economic Cooperation Organization was held. The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vugar Zeynalov.
At the event, which was attended by representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, members of the ECO CCI, ECO CCI Secretary General Adem Kula, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Hadi Suleimanpour and President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Pakistan Mian Anjum Nisar condemned the recent acts of aggression committed by the Armenian armed forces in our country and expressed support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the event, ASK Vice President Vugar Zeynalov thanked the participants for their support in the right struggle of Azerbaijan. Zeynalov briefed the guests on all acts of aggression that have taken place since September 27, as well as terrorist attacks in Ganja. He reiterated that Azerbaijani entrepreneurs are with our state during this period.
Speaking at the event, the representatives said that a number of restrictions were imposed between the member states due to the pandemic, which in turn had a negative impact on trade. It was proposed not to simplify the relevant procedures for trade facilitation between the member countries, to deepen cooperation between sectors, to increase efforts to establish joint ventures in agriculture, energy and other fields. At the same time, the ECO CCI is planning to establish a working group to assess the current situation in the post-pandemic sector.
During the meeting, the importance of abolishing the visa regime between member states to promote the private sector and investment was also noted.
