A meeting was held with our Ambassador in Malaysia at the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Malaysia, Mr. Irfan Davudov was a guest of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation. At the meeting, issues related to the establishment of economic relations between Malaysia and Azerbaijan and the introduction of the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand, the export potential of our products to this market, and cooperation in the field of tourism were discussed.
The Ambassador said that Malaysia imports 90% of its food products, so it can be a good market for our country’s agricultural products. Also, as a Muslim country, Malaysia can increase tourist visits to Azerbaijan. Ambassador I.Davudov pointed out that trips to Uzbekistan are very popular in Malaysia as an example, and emphasized that joint tourist routes can be effective.
According to the Ambassador, Malaysian business community made a proposal on the establishment of a business council together with their colleagues in Azerbaijan. Noting that organizing a business mission of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation to Malaysia can contribute to economic relations, I.Davudov also expressed his views on the possibilities of cooperation regarding the great and most advanced experience of this state in the issue of halal certification.
The Deputy Secretary General of the Confederation, Mr. Fuad Humbatov, touched on the possibilities of access of Azerbaijani entrepreneurs to the Malaysian market, drawing attention to the complexity of logistics in this field. Mr. F.Humbatov emphasized that Malaysia is one of the active members of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, and within the framework of this organization, cooperation opportunities can be further increased. He said that in October of this year, an international agricultural forum will be held in Baku with the participation of member countries of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, and business community from Malaysia can take an active part in this forum. He also expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the proposals and noted that relevant discussions will be held in the ASK management.
