Mammad Musayev: His Excellency President Ilham Aliyev’s Participation In The Davos Forum Will Create Broad Economic Prospects For Azerbaijan

In 2023, the Davos World Economic Forum is dedicated to the theme “Cooperation in a Fragmented World”. Indeed, since 2019, the world has been experiencing a period of crisis, firstly the pandemic, and the huge effects of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war on the world economy are undeniable. The fact that Russia and Ukraine are among the main global food suppliers in the world, sanctions have created major problems in the two most important areas of the world economy, such as energy and food. In such a situation, the role of a stable country like Azerbaijan in the world, distinguished by its reliability in cooperation, is increasing day by day. Undoubtedly, these are the result of the wise, far-sighted and correct internal and external policy of President H.E. Ilham Aliyev.

Mammad Musayev, president of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, expressed these views in his statement to AZERTAC.

According to him, if we look at the role of Azerbaijan in the world’s energy system in 2022, the position of our country in Europe’s stable and reliable energy supply has increased even more. As the European leaders themselves noted, the economic importance of Azerbaijan for Europe and the world in general is increasing. The participation of our President in the Davos Forum as the victorious Commander-in-Chief and a reliable economic partner is a unique platform in terms of conveying the truths and objective approach regarding Karabakh to the world community. If we look at the 30-year history of independence, Azerbaijan has implemented a constructive, developmental policy. He laid the foundations of projects that constantly promote the establishment of new economic relations and the development of the region in which is located, and chose economic development as a goal. While Armenia was engaged in looting in Karabakh during the 30-year occupation period, Azerbaijan has been carrying out major construction works in the past two years since its liberation from occupation. Under the leadership of our wise President H.E. Ilham Aliyev, investments are being made in Karabakh, the best infrastructure is being created to ensure the great return of our citizens to their homeland.

“It is known that investments in the world are always looking for fertile, stable, stable “islands”. Davos, the world’s largest economic forum, is the best platform to promote Azerbaijan in this direction, and the head of our state, distinguished by his fluent, argument-based speeches and economic views, holds productive meetings. All entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan are following these meetings with great attention, they believe that they will create wide economic prospects in the future”, said M. Musayev.

The president of the Confederation also drew attention to the special importance of the Middle Corridor passing through the territory of Azerbaijan in the context of the East-West transport corridor, the transition of Azerbaijan’s energy projects to a new stage, the petrochemical, mining, metallurgical industry, increasing the volume of gas, renewable energy projects, meetings with the President of the world’s most famous company heads in “smart village”, “smart city” and other fields are important for our country. The interest of global information technology companies such as CISCO in our country, as well as their interest in smart village projects created in Karabakh, creates wide opportunities in terms of overall economic development and attraction of foreign investments. Azerbaijan, which has a positive image as a stable, long-term partner in regional and global projects, will show its strength and influence to the whole world thanks to its growing economic power and strong political leader.
