Azerbaijani entrepreneurs invited to invest in Romania
President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers’) Organizations of Azerbaijan Mammad Musayev met with Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dan Iancu.
Expressing gratitude for the high-level organization of the International Business Forum for Small and Medium Business in the Black Sea Region, the ambassador noted that signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the ASK and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania is important for the development of relations between business organizations of the two countries. It was emphasized that the Business Council established under the Memorandum will contribute strengthening cooperation between business communities of the two countries.
Noting the importance of the Joint Commission on trade and economic relations and scientific and technical cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Romanian Government, the ambassador said that the next meeting of the Commission would be held in Bucharest on November 22-23.
“The Romanian Embassy in Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations between our countries, especially economic and commercial relations, for the benefit and prosperity of our peoples,” the ambassador said.
The ambassador said that the Romanian government promotes the National Privatization Partnership Program to attract foreign investors to the country. Within the framework of the National Program, Romania intends to build highways, high speed rail and subway lines, regional hospitals, ports, hydroelectric power plants, mountain skiing complexes, airport and other national infrastructure projects. Noting that Azerbaijan has great experience in road construction and other infrastructure projects, the ambassador invited Azerbaijani investors to invest in Romania by joining this program.
Noting that Romania is a friend country for Azerbaijan, Mammad Musayev stressed the cooperation between the two countries in various fields of economy. Speaking about reforms carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Musayev said that according to the Doing Business-2019 report released by the World Bank Group, Azerbaijan was included in the list of 10 most reforming countries and became the most reforming country in the world. In the new report, Azerbaijan’s position went up to 32 positions in comparison with the previous year and ranks 25th among 190 countries and leaving behind many countries in the world, has become a leader among the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Expressing his congratulations on the improvement of Azerbaijan’s position in the new report, the diplomat said that these results are useful for finding business partners from other countries and will create a clearer picture of the Azerbaijani market for foreign investors.
