Management and Innovation Forum was held in our country for the first time
Management and Innovation Forum was held with the organisation of the National Conference of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK) in Baku on May 21, 2019.
The President of the ASK, Mammad Musayev, said that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continues the political course of national leader Heydar Aliyev, favorable opportunities have been created to strengthen the private sector’s role in ensuring sustainable economic growth in Azerbaijan.
He said that Decrees, Orders and State Programs on entrepreneurship development have ensured the systematic implementation of the measures taken to develop this field.
“We should try to have high level of managerial skills in our country by properly organizing management in many areas of the economy. I think that, in addition to the Ministry of Education, it is important to organize relevant development programs in order to increase the professional competence of the specialists. It is one of the most important issues of the day to train professional managerial staff along with professional technical specialists in the country, ” he said.
He said that the studies once again prove that the existence of good managers is as important as the availability of technical experts and that the team of managers is in the process of doing business in the organization. That’s why the lack of managers leads to ineffective performance and slowdown in development. Therefore, teaching and advocacy of management skills, the establishment and development of public organizations in this area are among the most important issues.
M.Musayev said that special attention is paid to the development of human capital, which is the most important socio-cultural factor of modern economy in the world as well as in Azerbaijan. In order to keep unemployment low, it is important to pay attention to the managment sector and to make public organizations join this important work. In this sense, the socio-economic reforms carried out in our country are aimed at improving the welfare of each citizen of Azerbaijan.
“At the meeting on “Strategic Views: Eurasia” within Davos World Economic Forum in the current year, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the role of management role in the future of the country and emphasized the importance of innovation, technology, transparency and state support to entrepreneurship.” said the head of the ASK.
He said that the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, which unites more than 6,000 entrepreneurs, has set up a “Management Commission” under the auspices of the ASK. Members of the Commission and the initiative group of the Azerbaijan Management Association, together with the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, pay special attention to the development of knowledge and experience in management.
Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov highlighted the relevance of the forum and noted that favorable conditions were created for entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan and creation of management and innovation in this direction is very commendable.
The Deputy Minister stressed that up to 36,000 entrepreneurs have been granted preferential loans amounting to 2.3 billion manat, with a total value of 5.3 billion manat. According to him, as a result of these projects, more than 165,000 new jobs have been created.
Anar Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, said that 7,000 people will be involved in the program of self-employment in Azerbaijan this year. In 2018, the self-employment program was expanded 6.5 times and covered 7.3 thousand people.
More than 300 professional standards were developed in the framework of the Social Protection Development Project implemented by the World Bank together with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population in order to provide the labor market with qualified labor force, to increase labor productivity and thereby contribute to the sustainable development of the national economy, was presented to employers’. Measures in this direction will continue this year, and the development of more than 300 professional standards will be ensured to meet the requirements of the real sector of the economy,” the Deputy Minister said.
At the forum, speeches were made on “Role of trends in strategy formation”, “Importance of leadership in corporate culture formation”, “Corporate governance – Global practices and trends”.
