Structure of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry approved
The first meeting of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), which was established to support the expansion of mutual trade and investment opportunities between Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was held today in Istanbul. Mammad Musayev, the President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation represented our country in this organization.
Opening remarks have been made by Ruhsar Pekcan, the Minister of Trade, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the President of the Union of Chamber and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Baghdad Amreyev, the Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Mammad Musayev, the President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, Ablay Myrzahhmetov, the Chairman of the Board of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (ATAMEKEN), and Marat Sharshekeev, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
M.Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the President of TOBB said that “We made this great project real”.
In the initial stage Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey will be represented at the TCCI. Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are observers.
According to M.R.Hisarcıklıoğlu, these 6 countries have 1.1 trillion US dollar economic turnover and they have 160 million population. M.R.Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that trade is the main source of peace and prosperity “We must first eliminate trade barriers between our countries and increase trade with each other. We should also write a similar success story like the European Union. The Turkic Business Council and the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry will allow us to achieve this goal. I believe that if our governments and the business world work together, the Turkish world will write new success stories”.
Mammad Musayev, the President of the ASK said that Azerbaijan supported of the establishment of Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry from the first day. “I believe this organization will be a useful institution for our countries. I wish each of you success in this way”.
The structure of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been approved as a result of the voting. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu was elected as the President of the and Adem Kula the Secretary General of the Chamber.
