A Joint Forum On “One Product, Two Markets” Was Held

On 16th of February, with the initiative of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBIA) and with the support of Small and Medium Enterprise Development and Support Organization (KOSGEB) of the Republic of Turkey on “One product, two markets: Azerbaijan-Turkey mutual cooperation and trade opportunities” online forum was held.

Performing at the event organized by Azerbaijan and Turkey with the participation of relevant agencies and exporting companies operating in various sectors of the economy, KOBIA Board Chairman Orkhan Mammadov said that Azerbaijan-Turkey friendship and brotherhood, solidarity of our countries as like in all sectors, it also stimulates the development of economic-trade relations. There is a great potential between Azerbaijan and Turkey for further expansion of economic and trade relations, and the purpose of today’s forum is to discuss the possibility of realizing these opportunities and expanding cooperation. Orkhan Mammadov stressed that there are wide opportunities for joint production, expansion of sales opportunities and cooperation between SMEs and within the participation of both countries’ SMEs, KOSGEB can support the KOB’s subjects in this direction. It was noted that geographical position of our countries and their advantages over different markets can make this cooperation effective for export to third markets.

In the speech of KOSGEB President Hasan Basri Kurt mentioned regarding the Turkey’s trade relations and export potential, and shared his views on the support and cooperation opportunities provided to SMEs in this field.

President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation (ASK) Mammad Musayev and Acting President of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Yusif Abdullayev, spoke about the activities of their organizations and put forward proposals for cooperation.

In the panel of discussions of the online forum, the State Customs Committee, Food Safety Agency, KOBIA, Azerbaijan Investment Company, AZPROMO, TUIB, ATIB, All Food External Trade Association (TUGIDER), Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), Turkey’s International Representatives of the Transport Organization (UND), Ziraat Bank Azerbaijan OJSC, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the AZEXPORT export portal and entrepreneurs discussed opportunities for expanding trade relations between the two countries especially on logistics and customs, besides participants shared their views and proposals on technical regulation, cooperation opportunities for small and medium-sized business, investment opportunities in Azerbaijan and the investment potential of liberated territories and finally answered questions from participants.

At the end of the forum, a digital demonstration of products produced by Azerbaijan and Turkey was held.
