Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation Held A Meeting With The Ambassador Of The Kingdom Of The Netherlands To Our Country

On the date of the 25th of February, 2021, President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation Mammad Musayev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kingdom of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan Pauline Eizema. The meeting held through the online platform was dedicated to Azerbaijan-Netherlands economic relations and its expansion.

By welcoming the guest, the President of the Confederation wished Mrs. Pauline Eizema success in her work as Ambassador to Azerbaijan. Speaking about Dutch-Azerbaijani relations, Musayev noted the role of influence in the friendship between President Ilham Aliyev and Rene van der Linden, former chairman of the Senate of the Kingdom, Honorary Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and Chairman of the Dutch-Azerbaijani Friendship Group.

“Azerbaijan and the Netherlands have trade relations, however I think it is not at the desired level, and we can achieve better results as a result of joint cooperation” – M.Musayev informed. According to his speech, the Kingdom of the Netherlands also situates on the coastline, an agrarian country. Azerbaijani also has great potential in the agricultural sector, and cooperation is significant to learn from each other and to conduct exchange of experiences. At the same time, there are wide opportunities for cooperation in irrigation and other areas.

Ambassador Pauline Eizema said, “2020 was a successful year for Azerbaijan, liberated your lands from occupation. I hope that our relations will expand even more. We will try to be closely involved in the reconstruction of the liberated lands” – touched upon the opportunities for cooperation in several areas. The ambassador spoke regarding the prospects of Dutch companies in Azerbaijan in agriculture, water management, irrigation systems and urban planning.

M.Musayev thanked the Ambassador for her proposals and mentioned that he is open to proposals on the establishment of a Dutch Chamber of Commerce in our country in future at the same time, emphasizing that the opening of an Azerbaijani Trade House in the Netherlands will play a positive role in terms of product promotion, in this regard it has been informed that the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation is ready to raise the issue to the Government of Azerbaijan

At the meeting, it was decided to prepare a program on cooperation opportunities.
