A meeting of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation was held
On March 3, 2021, a meeting of the Presidium of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The meeting was dedicated to the results of the Confederation’s activities in 2020 and the discussion of the work plan for 2021
By opening the meeting, President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation Mammad Musayev noted that despite the negative impact of the pandemic on the business development in 2020, overall it was a successful year for our country. Under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, 2020 has enshrined in history as the Victory Day of our nation. 2021 will be a year of construction for our country, a year of revival for our native Karabakh, – said M.Musayev, provided a comprehensive information to the members of the Presidium on the Turkish-Azerbaijani business forum held in Turkey on February 19, 2021.
Presenting the 2020 report, the Confederation’s Deputy Secretary General Kristina Mammadova said that despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic, the ASK has attained spectacular success in its activities and protects the rights of entrepreneurs, has further strengthened its role in building public-private dialogue. Thus, in 2020, the ASK organized 11 meetings between government agencies and entrepreneurs embracing various topics. At the same time, 16 meetings of the commissions operating under the ASK were held and the proposals collected during these meetings. During this period, the Confederation received 159 appeals from entrepreneurs, 104 of these appeals highlight the difficulties caused by the impact of the pandemic on entrepreneurship.
In 2020, the ASK appointed representatives in more 35 districts, bringing the number of district representatives to 39 and thus increasing the activity of entrepreneurs working in the regions in the public-private dialogue. Particularly, 19 representatives of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation are working abroad to promote Azerbaijani products abroad, boost the investment climate and establish relations with our businessmen working abroad.
On March 19, 2020, the General Collective Agreement for 2020-2022 was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation. The General Collective Agreement was concluded for the first time for a period of 3 years and consists of 6 sections.
On February 16, 2020, the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation and the Azerbaijan Bar Association acted as co-founders of the Mediation Council in order to ensure the pre-trial settlement of lawsuits of entrepreneurs. This body will provide an alternative opportunity for entrepreneurs to resolve economic disputes for a shorter period of time without encountering loss of extra time. Currently, the Mediation Council continues to work on the training of mediators and the formation of the Mediation Institute.
Last year, the ASK proposed additions and amendments to 31 legislative acts in order to develop entrepreneurship and support business in the country. In particular, the extraordinary meeting of the Turkish Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Baku in the amid of Patriotic War, meetings with foreign businessmen and ambassadors of foreign countries to our country for the revival of entrepreneurship in the liberated lands can be noted.
Vice President Vugar Zeynalov performed with a presentation on the work plan of the Confederation for 2021. According to his words, further development of public-private dialogue this year, sustainable development goals, systematization of mediation activities, revival of economic activity in the liberated lands, enlightenment of entrepreneurs and other issues are included in the work plan.
Then the members of the Presidium voted on the report and voiced their proposals on the work plan.
At the end of the meeting, ASK President Mammad Musayev noted that the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation was established on March 5, 1999, informed the participants that he had passed the state registration on April 9, 1999 and that the Confederation had done a lot in the field of public-private dialogue through 22 years.
Thus, the President of the Confederation wished the team success and said that in 2021 there are more issues ahead, announced the end of meeting by stating the importance of working with high effort for the sake of development of our liberated lands.
