Vice President of Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation signs memorandum with Poltava Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Business Council has been established to further expand economic and investment ties between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, as well as cooperation between businessmen. The first meeting of the council established on the initiative of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBIA) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine was held in Baku yesterday. The meeting was attended by the President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation of Mammad Musayev and Vice President Vugar Abbasov.
President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation Mammad Musayev emphasized that the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $ 771.5 million in 2020, and the establishment of such a council will allow to further expand relations and establish joint ventures.
Performing at the meeting, Chairman of the Board of KOBIA Orkhan Mammadov noted that the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Business Council was established to continue the fruitful dialogue between the business circles of our countries, to further develop mutually beneficial economic cooperation. “We believe that the number of participants in the council will increase, which will have a positive impact on trade relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. KOBIA will provide the necessary support to the development of a new cooperation platform and the businessmen represented here as part of its support and services. ”
Gennady Chizhikov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, mentioned that cooperation platforms such as the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Business Council are favourable for effective discussions between businessmen and the introduction of new mechanisms to expand economic and trade cooperation.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ukraine to the Republic of Azerbaijan Vladislav Kanevsky noted that relations between the two countries continue successfully in various fields, including the economic sphere, and stressed that the establishment of the Business Council will be important in identifying new areas of cooperation and expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and other areas.
Yusif Abdullayev, acting president of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), and Alibala Maharramzadeh, director-general of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, stressed the business council would make a positive contribution to the development of business relations between the two countries.
A cooperation agreement was also signed between Vugar Abbasov, vice-president of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation and chairman of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and the Poltava Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Business Council will be chaired by Anar Guliyev, director of “Baku Business Group” LLC, from the Azerbaijani side, and Petr Mikhayenko, founder of the “Bratslav” group of companies, from the Ukrainian side.
