Azerbaijan Has Been Chaired By The Committee Of Women Entrepreneurs Under The Turkic Chamber Of Commerce And Industry

On November 11, the first meeting of the Committee of Women Entrepreneurs was held within the “Turkic Business Forum” of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The mission of the Committee is to identify qualified women entrepreneurs, build a strong society, increase the potential of women’s entrepreneurship in countries and develop a culture of entrepreneurship among women.

On November 10, during the 3rd General Assembly of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of the Azerbaijani Entrepreneurs Confederation Mammad Musayev initiated the transfer of the chairmanship of the Committee of Women Entrepreneurs to Azerbaijan and this initiative was supported by Mr. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the TOBB and the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

During the speeches, it was noted that women’s entrepreneurship has been developing rapidly in Azerbaijan in recent years, and this will contribute to the development of women’s entrepreneurship in the Turkic world.

Sakina Babayeva, a member of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation and chairman of the Association of Women Entrepreneurship Development in Azerbaijan, has been nominated to the committee.

In order to form the structure of the Committee of Women Entrepreneurs, a vote was held with the participation of women entrepreneurs operating in the member countries of the Turkic Council. As a result of the voting, Sakina Babayeva was elected chairman of the Committee for 2 years.

It should be noted that on November 24, 2020, at the 2nd General Assembly of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry held online, an agreement was reached on the establishment of Women’s and Young Entrepreneurs Committees under the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
