The Deputy Minister of Uzbekistan met with entrepreneurs at the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan
On June 17, Mr. Laziz Kudratov, the First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, was a guest of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation within the framework of his official visit to our country. Entrepreneurs and representatives of the executive apparatus of the Confederation took part in the meeting. He said that the official visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan on June 20 will open new opportunities for mutual cooperation. “On June 20, there will be a big business forum between Azerbaijani and Uzbek businessmen in Tashkent. Some bilateral negotiations have already yielded positive results, and contracts were expected to be signed between several business entities during the forum in Uzbekistan,” said L. Kudratov. It should be noted that B2B meetings between businessmen from Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were expected in Baku on June 21. L. Kudratov also noted that the trade turnover between our countries has increased 5 times in the last 5 years. At the same time, at the International exhibition to be held in Uzbekistan in September, a separate stand has been set aside for Azerbaijani entrepreneurs, and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs can present their products at that stand. According to the deputy minister, negotiations have already been held with several large companies in Azerbaijan for the joint production of products that create an added value chain. Uzbek entrepreneurs were very interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in construction materials and winemaking. Emphasizing that Uzbekistan ranks 5th in the world in gold exports, L. Kudratov said that he highly appreciates Azerbaijan’s potential in this field. At the same time, he noted that there was great potential for developing logistics opportunities and that Uzbek entrepreneurs were interested in the Alat Free Economic Zone. Mr. Vugar Zeynalov, vice-president of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, gave information about the investment opportunities of our country, export promotion concessions, and prospects for the development of entrepreneurship in liberated territories. The entrepreneurs who participated in the meeting addressed to the deputy minister about the projects they implemented in Uzbekistan, the tenders they were interested in, and some issues. Tasks were given on the spot on the issues raised.
