Azerbaijan And Jordan Will Cooperate In The Field Of Health Tourism

Ruslan Guliyev, Chairman of the Working Commission on Tourism and Service of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan, visited Jordan.  Within the framework of the visit, a Memorandum on long-term mutual cooperation was signed between the Azerbaijani Health and Thermal Tourism Support Association and the Jordanian Private Hospitals Association (PHA), with the participation of  Dr. Fayzi Al-Hammouri, Chairman of the institution,  Dr. Al-Hawari, Minister of Health of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,   and other government and state officials.

The document was signed within the framework of IHTF-2022 (International Healthcare Travel Forum) held on November 19-21 in Amman, the capital of Jordan, under the auspices of King Abdulla bin Hussein II.

Over 700 representatives from more than 50 countries attended this forum, which is considered one of the world’s largest health tourism events in the post-pandemic period. Ruslan Guliyev, the president of the Azerbaijan Health and Thermal Tourism Support Association (AHTTSA), the member of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs, represented our country at this summit.

During the forum, within the presentation delivered by the Global Health Tourism Organization, the participants of the forum were given extensive information on the activities carried out under the leadership of Azerbaijan during the period from 2018 to 2019, as well as on Azerbaijan’s current experience in this domain. At the GHTC stand, the Minister of Health of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the top representatives of the Jordanian Tourism Board were presented with advertising promotion printouts containing detailed information about health tourism opportunities in Azerbaijan, including Naftalan, Duzdag, Galaalti, and other health resort facilities.

A closed meeting of the Global Health Tourism Council was held on the second day of the event. During the meeting, the representatives of the member countries of the organization were informed about the health tourism potential of the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions of Azerbaijan liberated from illegal occupation.

Afterwards, Mr. Ruslan Guliyev, the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Health and Thermal Tourism Support Association, was presented with a special gratitude plaque for his services rendered to promote global health tourism under the Azerbaijani Chairmanship within the Global Health Tourism Organization for the period 2018-2019.

During the meeting, it was decided to hold the next 5th Summit of the Global Health Tourism Council in Croatia on April 26-27, 2023.
