An international event on “Empowering SMEs, economic diversification and green growth” was held in Baku
Baku hosted the 18th Annual Meeting of the International Network for Small and Medium Enterprises (INSME) on 1st December, 2022.
The event was jointly organised by INSME and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), a member of this organisation, and was dedicated to ‘Empowering SMEs, economic diversification and green growth”.
It is the first time that state officials, businessmen and representatives of international organizations and institutions which are members of INSME came to our country from various countries all over the world to participate in this meeting.
The main purpose of this year’s meeting was to discuss how to promote the role of innovations in green growth, to unlock the potential of entrepreneurship during the global crisis, discuss the ways in which SMEs can overcome and tackle energy crisis and how governments should intervene, as well as to encourage networking among people generating innovative new ideas on this matter.
At the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by Mikayil Jabbarov, the Minister of Economy, Sergio Arzeni, the President of the International Network for Small and Medium Enterprises (INSME), Yusif Abdullayev, the Head of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), Mammad Musayev, the President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan, Yves Leterme, the President of TOJOY and the former Prime Minister of Belgium, Boyko Takov, the Executive Director of Bulgarian SME Promotion Agency, Orkhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA).
