The participants of the “Power of women in business” project were announced
The selection of women entrepreneurs who will participate in the “Power of Women in Business” project launched in 2022 has ended. 134 applications have been received for participation in the project implemented with the initiative and organization of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) and “Rabitabank” OJSC, in partnership with the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Association for the Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan and “Marsol” LLC. 23 women entrepreneurs operating in Baku city and regions of the country were selected by the Jury of the project. They operate in agriculture, processing, food and other fields.
On January 30, the “Power of Women in Business” project was presented at “Baku SME House”. At the event held with the participation of the organizers and partners of the project, Mr. Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of KOBIA, Mr. Aydin Huseynov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rabitabank OJSC, and Ms. Sakina Babayeva, Chairman of the Association for the Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, informed about the importance of the project and the measures to be implemented within the framework of the project.
It was noted that the purpose of the “Women’s Power in Business” project is to provide support for increasing the role of women entrepreneurs in the country’s economy, to increase their business activity, to create conditions for the establishment of relations in the direction of raising awareness and expanding access to preferential financial resources. Within the framework of the project, trainings, production experience, “networking” events will be organized for women entrepreneurs. At the end of the project, support will be provided for the financing of the best 3 projects presented by the participants (1st place 5000 manats, 2nd place 3000 manats and 3rd place 2000 manats).
After the event, the first trainings for the participants of the “Power of Women in Business” project began. The representatives of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan taught women entrepreneurs’ communication, leadership, dispute management, etc. information was given on the topics, and the questions that interested them were answered. Also, mentorship training was held by Ms. Sakina Babayeva, Chairman of the Association for the Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan.
Project participants also got acquainted with the activities of “Baku SME House”, where the services of state and private institutions are presented to entrepreneurs in a single space.
