The 4th meeting of the General Assembly of the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry was held
The 4th meeting of the General Assembly of the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) was held on April 7 of this year in Istanbul, Türkiye. A large delegation led by Mammad Musayev, president of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, took part in the meeting. The event was attended by heads of entrepreneurs’ organizations from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and representatives of diplomatic missions of the mentioned countries, including Hungary.
President of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu opened the meeting and gave a report on the activities of TCCI in 2022. Then, decisions were made on signing the Chamber’s new charter, electing the Chamber’s president, Management Board and Supervisory Board members, appointing the Secretary General, and other issues. ASK President M. Musayev, heads of chambers of commerce and industry of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkish Republic of Cyprus spoke at the meeting moderated by Adam Kula, Secretary General of TCCI.
In addition, Sakina Babayeva, member of the ASK Board of Directors, chairperson of the Committee of Women Entrepreneurs of the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry, informed about the activity of the Committee. Also, the women’s entrepreneurship organization of the Turkish Republic of Cyprus was accepted as a member of the Committee.
During the meeting, the president of the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry for the next year was elected the head of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Türkiye. Before the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States to be held in October of this year, it was decided to hold the Turkic Business Forum in Kazakhstan in September organized by the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry (TCCI).
Also, an extensive presentation of Bagdat Amreyev, the head of the “Turkic Investment Fund”, which was established by the member states of the Organization of Turkic States, initially has a capital of 500 million US dollars and aims to support investment projects in Turkic states, was heard. During his speech, he expressed special thanks to the President of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev, as the main initiator of the creation and support of the fund.
In addition, in terms of using the financial opportunities of the Investment Fund, as well as the main activities of the re-formed Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry – expanding cooperation on food safety issues between the countries of the Turkic world, supporting trade and investment relations between countries, and improving transport infrastructure – were discussed. The areas of increasing financial and investment attractiveness among Turkic states, developing electronic trade between countries, as well as small and medium entrepreneurship were proposed as the main priority areas.
By voting at the meeting, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Turkish Republic of Cyprus was elected an observer member of the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
It should be noted that within the framework of the event, ASK President Mammad Musayev held bilateral meetings with the leadership of member organizations of the Chamber. Thus, during the meetings held with Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Türkiye, Adham Ikramov, Chairman of the Presidium of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Youth Policy and Sports, Ayan Yerenov, Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan, and Temir Sariyev, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, extensive views were exchanged on the existing economic and trade relations between our countries, the organization of mutual business missions, current opportunities and future plans.
