A conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader was held on the topic of “The journey that started from Nakhchivan”

On October 26, a conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani Nation Heydar Aliyev was held in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on the topic of “The road that started from Nakhchivan”. The conference was organized by Nakhchivan Entrepreneurs Confederation, with the support of the Authorized Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan, the Ministry of Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan.

The participants visited the monument of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani Nation Heydar Aliyev and commemorated him before the conference. They got acquainted with the exhibits reflecting the life path of the national leader.

The authorized representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Fuad Najafli, received the delegation led by Mr. Mammad Musayev, the president of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan.

The chairman of the Nakhchivan Entrepreneurs Confederation, Vugar Abbasov, opened the conference, which started with the singing of the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and emphasized that 2023 will be remembered with significant events for our country. He mentioned that this year the National Leader of the Azerbaijani Nation Heydar Aliyev’s 100th anniversary was solemnly celebrated all over the country, and that our sovereignty was restored in all our territories in 20 years of the presidency of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev: “Nakhchivan is one of the special pages in the life of our national leader. “The path that started from Nakhchivan” led to the protection of Azerbaijani statehood, the development of our country, and future success”, Fuad Najafli, authorized representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, opened the Conference by these words.

Fuad Najafli, the authorized representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, spoke about the glorious life of the national leader, his hard work in the direction of protecting our state’s independence, his efforts in the field of establishing our country’s foreign policy and achieving internal stability. F. Najafli noted the political and economic successes of our country in the past 20 years since President Ilham Aliyev took office, and informed the participants about the victory won in the 44-day Patriotic War and our duties ahead.

“The Zangazur corridor is of great importance not only for Azerbaijan, but for the region in general. The Zangazur corridor is an important link in logistics with brother Turkiye,” said F. Najafli.

The authorized representative mentioned that important steps will be taken on the main directions of the socio-economic program adopted for the development of Nakhchivan, the development of separate areas of the economy, especially the industrial sector: “A program is being prepared for the transformation of Nakhchivan into a free economic zone, and we are working on a project covering a special economic regime in Nakhchivan”.

He noted that measures such as the development of entrepreneurship, guaranteeing investments, etc. will make an important contribution to the development of the private sector in Nakhchivan.

Mammad Musayev, the president of National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan, touched upon the honorable life path of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani Nation Heydar Aliyev, the founder of modern Azerbaijan. “An important date for us is the completion of 20 years of presidency of the worthy follower of our great leader, Ilham Aliyev. The last 20 years have entered the history of Azerbaijan as a period of dynamic and comprehensive development. Great success, proud victories were achieved in all spheres of the country’s life. The rich economic, political and military potential of Azerbaijan has been created in the last years. All these achievements are based on the visionary line of domestic and foreign policy started by the National Leader of the Azerbaijani Nation Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by the Honorable President Ilham Aliyev,” said Mr. Musayev.

Tapdig Aliyev, the Minister of Economy of Nakhchivan, made a speech and mentioned that over 100 million manats loans were given to entrepreneurs by banking structures and credit organizations of the autonomous republic during the 9 months of the current year, of which 4 million 197 thousand manats were allocated by the Entrepreneurship Development Fund. 3,690,000 manats of the fund’s loans were directed to the development of industry, 492,000 manats to agriculture, and 15,000 manats to the development of services sector.

Also, 15 million manats were allocated to all banks operating in Nakhchivan by the Entrepreneurship Development Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan. From this fund, 1 million 375 thousand manats were allocated to entrepreneurs operating in Nakhchivan during the 9 months of the current year, of which 450 thousand manats were allocated to industry, 250 thousand manats to agriculture, and 675 thousand manats to the services sector.

The Minister emphasized that in order to improve and increase the effectiveness of the services provided to entrepreneurs, to ensure efficiency in this area, SME friends have started operating in the regions of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Tapdig Aliyev emphasized the importance of the implementation of the “State Program for the socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for the years of 2023-2027” in these achievements.

Khayala Dadashova, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, acting Minister of Agriculture of Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan, informed about the provision of subsidies and the measures implemented in the direction of the development in the field of agriculture. As an upcoming goal she brought attention to ongoing work on attracting investors to Nakhchivan. The deputy minister said that the ecological balance is maintained for the cultivation of organic food products in Nakhchivan. Emphasizing that new business entities have already started to grow organic products, Khayala Dadashova said that appropriate areas have been selected for the creation of agroclusters and additional measures are planned regarding the use of state support and incentive documents. She noted that the procedures for the export and import of agricultural products from Nakhchivan are fully ensured and that fisheries and poultry farms are areas with high investment potential.

Elchin Aliyev, the Chairman of Central Bank of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan, in his speech mentioned that 18 branches of 7 banks, 7 bank departments belonging to 2 banks, 2 non-bank credit organizations and 1 credit union are currently operating. Thanks to the favorable environment created in the last period of the current year, there was a significant increase in the number of insurance companies, and now their number has reached 6 in the Autonomous Republic.

“Certainly, these growth indicators have also contributed to the economic financing of banks. In the last period of the current year, a total of 294 million 344 thousand manats of loans were given by banks and other credit organizations operating in the region, which is 38.2 percent more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. 35.4 percent of the given loans or 104 million 304 thousand manats were directed to the development of the real sector in the region, which is 2.8 times more than the corresponding indicator of the last year,” said E. Aliyev.
