Entrepreneurs participated in the meeting dedicated to the “Competition Code”

On February 20, the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan held a meeting on “new concepts and relevant regulatory methods detected in the competition Code”. Entrepreneurs representing various sectors attended the meeting held within the framework of the public-private dialogue.

The State Service for antimonopoly and consumer market control under the Ministry of economy made extensive presentations on the competition Code, key concepts and practical issues on its application, which is one of the important legislative acts in the regulation of entrepreneurial activity in our country and adopted at the end of 2023. Extensive discussions were held around the Code, which will stimulate free competition in the market, create a foundation for the improvement of the business environment in the country, expand the opportunities for small and medium-sized business subjects to enter the market, and make it possible to organize a more efficient control system over natural monopoly subjects.

Most of the questions were related to the mechanism of application of the code and the explanation of concepts. Entrepreneurs were informed that the service is working on the necessary normative legal acts in this regard, and the issues raised will be taken into account in these normative acts.
