The Chairman Of ASK’s Tourism And Service Work Commission Spoke At The Ikiztepe Health Summit Held In Samsun

The IkizTepe Health Summit has started in Samsun, the city of Atatürk in Türkiye.

During the archaeological excavations conducted in Ikiztepe, it was found that after brain operation thousands of years ago, the brain lived for a long time after that operation. Samsun, located on the Black Sea coast, has begun to be characterized as a medical city in Türkiye. There are large hospitals, clinic centers, well-known equipment and pharmaceutical industry enterprises in Samsun, and their number continues to grow.

Currently, the Ikiztepe Health Summit has the character of showing this development to the world and connecting professionals of the medical industry as a global network.

ASKON Samsun branch head Ahmet Alp Doğru mentioned that there are more than 200 participants from 23 countries. In a world where the world is aging and medical costs are increasing, Türkiye ranks among the top five in the world in the treatment of certain diseases, especially in surgery. Although Samsun is a leader in the field of agriculture, it is trying to take the lead in the medical industry. The annual income of the health sector is 6.5 billion dollars in Samsun alone.

At the health summit, our country was represented by a delegation led by Ruslan Guliyev, member of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, chairman of the commission on tourism and services.

Guliyev mentioned that Azerbaijan is participating in this summit for the second year and this time it participated with a bigger delegation. Also, our country participates in the exhibition with two stands. The main reason that prevents the citizens of Azerbaijan from using the medical potential of Samsun is the limited logistics possibilities. The lack of a direct flight from Azerbaijan to Samsun makes things difficult for people. “The main discussion on the table today is the establishment of direct logistics,” said R. Guliyev.

It should be noted that health tourism alone in the world is worth 10 trillion dollars. In general, the share of the sector is larger and its share continues to grow.
