The Azerbaijani delegation participated in ICAPP Business Council and Standing Committee meetings
On May 27-30, the delegation led by Tahir Budagov, Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) and Head of the Central Office, attended the 2nd meeting of Business Council and the 41st meetings of the Standing Committee (SC) of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) hosted by the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand in Bangkok. The meeting was attended by representatives of the business sector, including Ruslan Guliyev, a member of the Presidium of Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation.
At the opening ceremony of the Business Council meeting held on May 28 with the participation of 22 political parties and 38 business institutions from 19 countries, the new composition of the Bureau of the institution was determined. Tahir Budagov, a member of the ICAPP SC, was unanimously elected as a member of the 8-person Bureau consisting of representatives of political parties and the business environment.
Ruslan Guliyev, a member of the ICAPP Business Council, co-founder and CEO of “Millennium Tourism & Congress DMC”, who spoke in the second plenary session of the meeting called “Promotion of Tourism”, mentioned that tourism is closely related to security and hospitality, and Azerbaijan, which provides a safe tourism environment against the background of the exacerbation of geopolitical struggles and military conflicts in the world, by ensuring its integrity, it created a favorable ground for sustainable peace and security in the South Caucasus region as a whole. According to him, in addition to security, Azerbaijan offers tourists a culture of hospitality based on centuries-old traditions of tolerance, multiculturalism and rapidly developing tourism infrastructure of our people.
Mentioning “Azerbaijan, playing the role of a bridge between East and West, Europe and Asia, has been successfully hosting various international political, economic and humanitarian events for many years,” R. Guliyev said that hosting the COP, which will bring together the participants, will provide new opportunities to the government and businessmen to realize and expand the tourism opportunities of our country, and the rich experience gained from the event will have an impact on the development of the tourism industry of Azerbaijan in the coming years. R. Guliyev, who spoke also about the wide tourism opportunities of Azerbaijan, specially noted that our country is already recognized as a new tourism destination in the world.
At the end of the meeting, the Bangkok statement containing the main content of the discussions was adopted.
On the same day, YAP Deputy Chairman Tahir Budagov also participated in the 41st meeting of ICAPP DK. At the meeting, the work done by ICAPP in the last 6 months was reviewed, detailed views were exchanged on the current and future activities of the institution..
Within the framework of the SC meeting, ICAPP Secretary General Kwon He-seok and Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization Parliamentary Assembly Secretary General Asaf Hajiyev signed a memorandum of understanding on the exchange of observers between the two institutions.
On May 29, the participants visited the international food and beverage exhibition “THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2024” held in the capital Bangkok from May 28 to June 1, and inspected the stands.
Later, the participants were given a tour to Thai parliament building, and the guests were given detailed information about the country’s supreme legislative body.
The visit of the delegation ended on May 30.
