ASK and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) held a video conference
A video conference was held between the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK) and the relevant agencies of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). The video conference was attended by ECO officials and officials of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of 10 member countries, including the ASK. The conference was dedicated to the discussion of preventive measures taken against the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting was opened by TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
Later on the heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Iran and other member countries gave information about the relevant support mechanisms for the pandemic, emphasizing that the crisis is global. Initiatives have been voiced to take inter-regional steps, speed up logistics to strengthen economic ties between the countries, including the facilitation of customs-border crossings, the introduction of a green corridor and the implementation of logistics crossings through the Caspian Sea.
In turn, during his speech, ASK President Mammad Musayev gave detailed information about the mechanisms of socio-economic support carried out in our country under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. The support mechanisms launched in Azerbaijan aroused the interest of the meeting participants.
At the same time, Musayev stressed the importance of the ongoing reforms in the banking sector, as well as similar conferences held by the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States and its subdivisions.
