The Turkic Business Forum “Devoted to the restoration and development of the liberated Karabakh region of Azerbaijan” was held
A business forum was held within the framework of the 10th Meeting of the Ministers in Charge of Economy of the Turkic Council.
Speaking at the opening session of the Business Forum dedicated to the restoration of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said that economic relations with the Turkic Speaking States based on mutual interests are expanding year by year on a qualitatively new level. Successful trade and investment cooperation are carried out with the CCTS member states. From 1995 to 3 months of 2021, the CCTS member states contributed 13.5 billion dollars to the economy of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan contributes $ 18.6 billion to member states’ economies.
Mikayil Jabbarov spoke about the Great Return to our liberated territories, the concept of “smart city” and “smart village” to be implemented in these areas. He noted that active work is being carried out in the Zangazur corridor. The Minister added that the realization of this potential will lead to the launch of new transport routes, strengthen regional cooperation and stability.
The Minister of Economy stressed that the Turkish Council gave great support to Azerbaijan during the 44-day war. It was noted that the great interest of the companies of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States in the restoration of our liberated territories and their desire to stand by Azerbaijan in this honorable work is highly appreciated. The participation of many businessmen in construction, transport and logistics, agriculture, food industry, renewable energy, light industry, tourism, mining and other fields in the business forum dedicated to the restoration of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan is another example of friendship and brotherhood of Turkic Speaking States.
Turkic Council Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev stressed the importance of the Turkic Council in terms of expanding cooperation between businessmen of the member countries. He stressed that Karabakh will become one of the developed regions of the Turkic world.
Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation (ASK) president Mammad Musayev noted that the share of the Member States of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce in the total trade turnover of Azerbaijan is 18.4%. Economic opportunities of Karabakh and business opportunities of our states in general can contribute to the growth of this share.
Heads of delegations from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Hungary and others shared their views on the development of cooperation in entrepreneurship, investment, “green” economy, digital technologies, trade and other fields, and expressed their interest in participating in the restoration and reconstruction of Karabakh.
During the event, a presentation was made on the work to be done to restore and reconstruct Karabakh.
Then, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and the «QazTrade» Center for Trade Policy Development of Kazakhstan. The document covers the exchange of experience in organizing and stimulating foreign trade.
The Forum continued with bilateral meetings.
