Baku hosts II Forum of Young Entrepreneurs

On December 10, the Baku Congress Center hosted the Second Forum of Young Entrepreneurs organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) and the Public Council under SMBDA.

The event was attended by representatives of relevant government agencies and public organizations operating in the field of youth, as well as young people engaged in entrepreneurial activities and interested in this field.

The forum began with the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Minister of Youth and Sport Farid Gayibov spoke about the successful youth policy in our country and the work done in this area.

Chairman of the of the Management Board of SMBDA Orkhan Mammadov shared his views on the promotion of entrepreneurship among young people, opportunities created to support their entrepreneurial initiatives and the services of SMBDA in this area, emphasizing the importance of the forum.

President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK) Mammad Musayev spoke about the activities of the organization and the support provided to entrepreneurs.

Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation Farid Jafarov informed the participants about the work done by the Foundation to develop the knowledge and skills of young people, as well as to support relevant initiatives and projects in various forms.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Tahir Mirkishili stressed the importance of projects of young entrepreneurs, development of social entrepreneurship and youth initiatives in the field of high technology for the country’s economy.

Chairman of the Board of the State Employment Service under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population Mustafa Abbasbayli noted the importance of the self-employment program for young people to start entrepreneurship, and informed about the projects implemented by his organization to ensure self-employment.

Chairman of the Public Council under SMBDA Farhad Garashov noted that the forum was organized for the second time to promote entrepreneurship among young people, to inform them about the existing mechanisms of state support.

During the panel discussions, officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, the State Customs Committee, SMBDA, the State Employment Agency and the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation informed about the activities of their organizations and answered questions.

At the forum, young entrepreneurs also shared their successful experiences and their views on measures that can contribute to the development of this field.
