The second meeting of the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Business Council was held
On December 10, the second meeting of the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Business Council was held. The event began with the commemoration of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. Mammad Musayev, President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation and Co-chair of the Council said that the two countries had very high and warm relations, as well as the friendship of our nations had a positive impact on business relations. He stressed that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan has increased over the past year, reaching $ 8 million. He stressed that Azerbaijan plays an important role in the integration of Turkic countries, and spoke about the great prospects of the Zangazur corridor and the economic potential of Karabakh.
Welcoming the participants, Adham Ikramov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Co-chair of the Council, voiced his proposals on increasing trade turnover and mutual investment. Adham Ikramov said he was ready to provide any support to Azerbaijani entrepreneurs. He noted that Uzbekistan will share its experience with Azerbaijan in cotton clusters, emphasizing that they can help develop cotton growing in Karabakh as one of the traditional industries. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov stressed the existence of strong diplomatic relations between the two countries and expressed readiness to support business communities both countries.
Vugar Abbasov, Vice President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation and President of Cahan Holding, drew attention to mutual investments between the two countries. He said that the economic development of Karabakh opened up great opportunities for investors from Uzbekistan.
Bakhtiyor Muhammadsaidov and Shukhrat Aliyev made presentations on the development and achievements of the textile industry of Uzbekistan and the development and achievements of the leather processing industry.
Chairman of the Azerbaijan Bank Training Center Javanshir Abdullayev proposed to develop a schedule for the sharing of experience in the financial sector and the establishment of a permanent consortium of consulting companies. Ruslan Guliyev, Chairman of the Commission for Work with Tourism Enterprises spoke about the mutual promotion of the tourism potential of our countries. Director General of Azersun Holding Savash Uzan spoke about opportunities for entrepreneurs to enter the market. Chairman of the Board of AZERMASH OJSC Emin Akhundov informed the participants about the successes achieved in the automobile industry as a result of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
At the end of the meeting, issues of mutual interest were discussed.
