The next international event was held in Shusha – Shusha Turkic Business Forum

On September 16, the Shusha Turkic Business Forum dedicated to the restoration and development of the Karabakh region was held in the city of Shusha. The forum was jointly organized with the Organization of Turkic States, the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In addition to Azerbaijan, 4 permanent members of the Organization of Turkic States (Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan) and observer member Hungary, as well as representatives of various organizations and diplomatic corps, business community took part in the event.

The purpose of the forum is to further deepen the economic, business and investment relations between the Turkic states, to promote the dialogue between entrepreneurs, to present the economic and investment potential of the Karabakh region to foreign businessmen.

The event began with a one-minute silence commemorating the memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

At the forum, Minister of Agriculture H.E. Inam Karimov, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States H.E. Bagdad Amreyev, Deputy Minister of Economy Mr. Sahib Mammadov, President of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Türkiye Mr. M. Rifat Hisarciklioglu, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Mammad Musayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KOBIA Mr. Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Kubanichbek Kasimaliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Mr. Farhodjon Toshpulatov shared their views on the economic, trade and investment cooperation between the Turkic states, participation of business organizations of Turkic countries in the restoration and development of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, opportunities for cooperation in this field and public-private sector partnership.

In the special session on “Investment opportunities in Karabakh and East Zangazur economic region” held within the framework of the event, Mr. Aydin Karimov, Special Representative of President in the Shusha district, Mr. Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, Mr. Yusif Abdullayev, Head of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan – AZPROMO, Mr. Elshad Nuriyev, Chairman of the Board of Economic Zones Development Agency, participated.

At the event, bilateral meetings were held on “green infrastructure”, agriculture, food, renewable energy, textile, tourism, mining industry, ICT sectors.

Then, the Agreement on the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Business Council between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan was signed, the Road Map on the implementation of joint measures between the Entrepreneurship Development Agency of Uzbekistan and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) confirmed. Also, memorandums of understanding were signed between the Public Union “Association for the Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan” and “Kut Trading and Marketing Limited Company”, “Baku Textile Factory” LLC and “Inmak Group of Companies”.

Forum participants also got acquainted with Shusha Castle, “Cidir Düzü”, Vagif’s mausoleum.
