The meeting of the “Tripartite Commission on Social and Economic Issues in the Republic of Azerbaijan” was held
On July 5, 2022, the next meeting of the “Tripartite Commission on Social and Economic Issues in the Republic of Azerbaijan” was held with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Confederation of Azerbaijan Trade Unions and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Initially, the work plan of the Trilateral Commission for 2022 was brought to the attention of the parties and approved. Then, the implementation situation of the International Labor Organization Convention “On the Abolition of Forced Labor” (Convention No. 105) in Azerbaijan was discussed.
Consultations on the work to be done in this direction were held by the social partners around the recommendations presented by the International Labor Organization’s Committee on the Implementation of Standards in connection with the implementation of that Convention. As a result of the discussions, it was decided to initially examine the possibilities of adapting the relevant national legislation to the Convention, taking into account the recommendations of the committee. It should be noted that the Tripartite Commission was a platform for the regulation of labor relations and the organization of the discussion of socio-economic issues in a tripartite manner in the Republic of Azerbaijan, which ensured the implementation of the General Collective Agreement on a permanent basis.
