A conference was held on “Public – entrepreneur partnership: the basis of a sustainable economy”

On January 12, 2024, a conference on “Public – entrepreneur partnership: the basis of a sustainable economy” was held initiated by the private sector a representatives of various business associations, businessmen and startups operating in industry, construction, agriculture, logistics, ICT, healthcare, insurance, tourism, textile and other fields.

At the event held at the Heydar Aliyev Center, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played and the dear memory of our martyrs who lost lives for the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute’s silence. At the conference, a film was displayed dedicated to the actions and achievements in the direction of the diversification of the economy of Azerbaijan and the development of the private sector in the last years.

National leader Heydar Aliyev has done invaluable work in the direction of the formation of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan. Currently, this field is developing further in line with global challenges under the leadership of the head of state, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. As a result of the reforms, the economic power of our country is getting stronger day by day, and its reputation as a reliable partner is increasing at the international level. Azerbaijan, which has fully restored its territorial integrity with the Victory won in the Patriotic War, has ample opportunities for business revival, especially in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur regions. Entrepreneurs take advantage of state support mechanisms, concessions and incentives.

Mr.Mammad Musayev, the president of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations, speaking at the conference, noted that a new stage in the development of the private sector has begun as a result of the large-scale work carried out under the leadership of president Ilham Aliyev. Public private partnership is expanding, and entrepreneurship is strengthening in regions as well as in big cities. Azerbaijani entrepreneurs also implement a number of projects in foreign markets. State support measures, the adoption of new laws based on best practices increase the contribution of the private sector to economic development. Today, the implementation of innovative and priority projects within the framework of public-private partnership increases efficiency in the economy.

Mr.Ehtiram Guliyev, the head of “Huner Group” specialized in the field of construction, noted the role of the favorable and transparent environment in our country in the expansion of the company’s activities in different directions. Sharing his experience, the entrepreneur informed about the projects implemented by the company he leads and mentioned that the principles of social responsibility are followed in their activities. He emphasized that the owners should not expect everything from the state and should do their best for the development of the state for the welfare of our people.

Ms.Jala Amirbeyova, an entrepreneur operating in the agricultural sector, pointed out that the systematic implementation of state patronage for entrepreneurship and the improvement of the effectiveness of support measures led to important achievements in this field. She noted that was able to bring her business from scratch to its current successful state by using almost all of the state’s support mechanisms for farmers.

Mr.Teymur Rzayev, the head of “Lazzat Food Industry” LLC, which operates in the field of food and non-food industry in the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan, noted that the large-scale socio-economic reforms implemented in our country under the leadership of the head of state created the base for the beginning of a new stage in the development of Nakhchivan. The LLC, which created new competitive and export-oriented production areas by taking advantage of the business environment, benefited from the investment promotion document in individual years and saved a lot of money.

Mr.Samir Alizada, head of “Okhatan” LLC, working in the field of tourism in Astara, said that Azerbaijan has great potential for business, including the development of tourism. The head of state pays special attention to the realization of this potential. The entrepreneur touched upon the importance of the creation of tourism enterprises in the regions both in terms of business development and increasing employment, and informed about the activities of the company he represents.

Startup entrepreneur Mr.Taleh Karimli informed about the startups “Nextsale” and “Uvodo”, which he started. He noted that the support of state institutions encourages the strengthening of the startup ecosystem in Azerbaijan. As a result, the “Nextsale” application, designed to increase sales on e-commerce sites, won a number of local and international awards and was selected as the startup of the year in 2020. Currently, the “Uvodo” e-commerce platform is being expanded.

Ms.Samira Hueynova, the representative of “Diamed Co” LLC in the pharmaceutical industry, said that “Diamed” is the first factory producing medical plastic products operating in Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus. The factory was inaugurated in Pirallahi Industrial Park in 2019 with participation of the head of state. The enterprise produces disposable syringes of various capacities on the basis of modern technologies. For the implementation of the project, the government allocated 5 million AZN concessional loans. It was reported that the factory plans to start the production of several new products, including various types of vacuum blood tubes, in the future.

Mr.Elman Abbasov, general director of “Thermo Natural Azerbaijan” LLC in the construction materials production sector, mentioned that the company he leads is an executor of a number of large-scale projects in our country. A number of projects have already been implemented in Agdam and Lachin regions within the framework of public-private partnership. It was emphasized that the concessions and privileges given by the state have created the basis for the success of the projects implemented by the company and provide wider opportunities for increasing production in the future.

Mr.Kamran Habibov, the head of “Hellmann Worldwide Logistics” LLC in the field of international cargo transportation, highlighted the main directions of the LLC’s activities. It was reported that the company, which carries out international cargo transportation, has always felt the support of the state during its 14-year operation and benefited from the economic reforms. In particular, the introduction of technological innovations in the regulatory process opens wide opportunities for business entities working in this field.

Mr. Emin Mammadov, the founder of “Bafco Invest” LLC, which operates in the field of special protective footwear production, noted that leadership of Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev benefited from the conditions created for business in our lands freed from occupation by the determination of our Army. “Bafco Invest”, a resident of Aghdam Industrial Park, also benefited from government concessional loans and tax incentives. The products of the enterprise, which has the annual production capacity of 500,000 pairs of shoes, will be exported to foreign markets as well as to the local market.

Mr.Shahin Khalilov, the founder of “Edtesk” LLC, mentioned that 7 years ago, as a graduate of the Sabah group, he made a speech at the Heydar Aliyev Center and thanked the head of state for the support given to the youth. It is gratifying that the development of the startup ecosystem in our country, including the favorable conditions created for the realization of innovative ideas of young people, made it possible to act as a successful startup founder. The company he currently leads is known for 4 different startup products that cover local and foreign markets. The company that won Technofest Azerbaijan has a close partnership with state enterprises.

At the end of the event, a statement was adopted on behalf of the conference participants in support of the policy course conducted under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. It was stated in the statement that against the background of global challenges, macroeconomic stability is maintained in our country, the economy is diversified, and a more favorable business and investment environment is created for the development of the private sector. Businessmen are proud to mobilize all their forces and contribute to the quick revival of Karabakh and the Great Return. The participants of the conference declared that they will carry out their duties for the development of the economy of Azerbaijan.
