Agrarian Business Festival was held in Gazakh
An Agrarian Business Festival was held in Gazakh district by Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture with partnership with Entrepreneurship Development Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Consumer Goods Expertise Center and Entrepreneurs Confederation. Subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Economy, banks and non-bank credit organizations participated in the festival organized in Gazakh Olympic Sports Complex.
The ambassador and delegation of Northern Cyprus, Türkiye, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in Azerbaijan took part in the festival. The head of the Executive Power of Gazakh R. Babashov, Chairman of the Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan S. Seyidov, Ambassador Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Azerbaijan C. Bağcı, Director of the Agrarian Innovation Center A. Jafarov, Vice President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan V. Zeynalov, Adviser to the Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University I. Pirmammadov made the opening speeches.
At the festival held in Gazakh, state institutions and private companies operating in the agrarian field shared the best advanced agricultural practices for farmers. In the exhibition section of the festival, modern techniques for agriculture, new irrigation technologies and effective planting methods that save resources, plant protection tools, various plant and vegetable seeds were displayed. Farmers from Gazakh, Agstafa, Tovuz, Shamkir, Samukh, Goygol and Gadabay regions participated in the festival.
The Agrarian Credit and Development Agency, Entrepreneurship Development Fund, bank and non-bank credit organizations, participating in the credit fair held within the festival, offered preferential loans to farmers. Farmers were given detailed information about agricultural loans and various loan products.
In order to educate farmers, trainings were carried out by the Agricultural Training Center of the Public Legal Entity and Agrarian Services Agency of the Vegetable Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture. During the training, a presentation was held by experts on the topics “Cultivation of potatoes with modern methods”, “Preparation for sowing of fields to be planted with autumn grain”. Discussions were held on the topic and farmers’ questions were answered.
In order to promote the calls for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be hosted by our country in 2024, nature-protecting and climate-friendly technologies were demonstrated at the festival.
It should be noted that the “GreenAgroHack” hackathon competition organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center will be held within the framework of the 17th Azerbaijan International Agricultural Exhibition, which will be held at the Baku Expo Center on May 15-17. The Hackathon aims to promote the role and importance of innovation in the agricultural field, intelligent solutions, development of special software in the field of agriculture with the participation of students of the leading higher education institutions of the country within the framework of the “Year of Solidarity for the Green World”.
