The next meeting of tourism industry participants was held
On July 29, a meeting dedicated to COP29 was held by the “Work on tourism and service” commission operating within the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK).
Vugar Zeynalov, vice-president of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, speaking at the meeting, mentioned that the tourism commission operating within ASK monitors the development of this sector, conducts discussions and presents recommendations to the government regarding the development of tourism. He added that the Confederation provides non-financial support to entrepreneurs in the country within the framework of its activities, especially holds trainings, seminars, provides consulting services, as well as represents the interests of businessmen at the local and international level.
Ruslan Guliyev, chairman of ASK “Work on Tourism and Service” commission, said that the Confederation cooperates with similar structures in more than 50 countries and has representation in 25 countries. It is an institution that takes an important place in the state-business dialogue within the country. The heads of associations operating in the field of tourism in Azerbaijan are among the members of the “Work on Tourism and Service” commission, which creates conditions for conducting proper analyzes in the field of tourism, identifying existing deficiencies in this field, and preparing and delivering the necessary recommendations to the government.
The pace of preparations of the tourism industry related to COP29 was also discussed at the meeting. It was reported that COP29 is the biggest international event ever held in Azerbaijan. About 100,000 guests are expected to participate here. One of the most important tasks for the event to take place at the appropriate level, and for the guests to leave Azerbaijan satisfied, is the responsibility of the tourism industry. In this regard, important nuances such as the number of accommodation places, booking hotels, determining prices, conducting trainings for hotel employees in order to improve the quality of service, cooperation with Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency in this direction were among the issues discussed at the meeting. It was stated that all institutions operating in the country, both state and private sector representatives should mobilize all their capabilities to organize this prestigious event at a high level.
