The next meeting of the Trilateral Commission on Social and Economic Affairs was held
On February 12, 2019, the Trilateral Commission on social and economic affairs consisting of the representatives of The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs, Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation held its next meeting.
The agenda of the first meeting of the trilateral commission in 2019 is dediacted to the dicsussion of the business plan for 2019.The business plan scheduled the discussion of 18 issues in total taking into consideration the proposals of the each party.During the discussion the members of the comission declared their positions regarding each item of the business plan and made some changes on the business plan taking into account the proposals of the parties. It was decided to discuss the issues considered in the business plan on the certain calendar within a year, as well as unified a number of its similar items. According to the business plan, it is considered the preparation of the legislation acts projects on the social and economic sphere ,the organization of their discussion and coordination of the positions on these documents. It was added the discussion of the events which will held in a year by the social parties and the Azerbaijan state regarding to the 100th anniversary of the International Labour Organization to the business plan as well.
It was discussed the execution of the Decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic about the application of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan ” On Public Participation” dated November 22, 2013 No. 816-IVQ, the positions of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs and its business associations were brought to the attention of the government and trade unions
One of the issues discussed at meeting was the increase of the minimum wage by the relevant decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.
The parties appreciated the increase of the minimum wage by the President and paid attention to this issue during the year and agreed to deliver the suggestions on the sum of the minimum wage and calculation standards at the end of the year to the government on behalf of the Commission taking into account the positions of the parties.
At the end of the meeting, the business plan of the trilateral Commission on Social and Economic Affairs for 2019 has been basically approved.
It should be noted that the Trilateral Commission on Social and Economic Affairs, created in September 2016 consisting of representatives of all three organizations, contributes to the preparation and implementation of socio-economic policy in our country.
During the past years, 10 meetings of the Commission were held, discussions of the dozens normative acts were discussed in these meeting.
