Iraqi Entrepreneurs Discussed Business Cooperation At ASK

A meeting was held with the delegation of the Iraqi Chamber of Commerce at the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation.

Mahmoud Abdullah Jabbar Al-Leithi stressed the importance of business cooperation of his country, especially the Diwaniya Chamber of Commerce’s with Azerbaijani entrepreneurs. Speaking about the Confederation, Vice President Vugar Zeynalov said that the economy in Iraq has begun to recover and that Azerbaijan has great potential to export products to this country.

Mahmoud Abdullah Jabbar Al-Leithi said Iraq was in great need of oil, pharmaceuticals and tamper paste and expressed readiness to work with Azerbaijan in all areas: “We propose to create an Azerbaijan-Iraq Business Center. We are ready to hold joint exhibitions, work through governmental bodies and central format”.

According to the delegation, Iraq has 500 million hectares of arable land that is not used. Iraq has virtually lost all its businesses following the recent wars and is now the world’s largest importer. The state’s oil revenues are $ 125 billion a year, and the Iraqi population has already grown. This is very profitable for exporters.

Stressing the interest of Azerbaijan as an exporter for Iraq, the guests noted that transportation of goods in terms of logistics is cheap.

At a meeting organized by the ASK International Department, Azerbaijani businessmen were invited to an exhibition to be held in Baghdad in November 2019 and were informed that the Iraqi side would support entrepreneurs regarding all the participation issues.
