Azerbaijan-Russia Health Tourism Relations Are Expanding

An event dedicated to the development of health tourism was held in Baku under the name of “SWIC – Spa and Wellness International Congress”.

Elena Trubnikova, Chairman of the Russian Health and Wellness Tourism Association, spoke at the event’s section on financial performance in the SPA and Wellness industry. In his speech he noted that urgent measures are needed to increase the investment attractiveness and economic efficiency of both directions.

Y.Trubnikova spoke about the work and successes of Russian spa resorts over the past 5 years in this area.

Ruslan Guliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Health and Thermal Tourism Support Association(AHTTSA), spoke about the potential of Azerbaijan in the field of health tourism. The head of the Association said that it is possible to develop all directions of tourism in our country.

During the visit, Chairman of the Russian Health and Wellness Association Elena Trubnikova met with members of the  Azerbaijan Health and Thermal Tourism Support Association (AHTTSA).

According to the press service of AHTTSA, the meeting was held at the headquarters of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, explaining the potential of our country in the field of health tourism and how to effectively use the existing opportunities.

They also spoke about the work done in this direction and the upcoming projects in 2020. At the meeting, a memorandum was signed between the two countries’ associations on joint activities between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation in the field of health tourism. The document contains provisions on conducting mutual business forums and info tours.

During the visit, another meeting of Elena Trubnikova was held with the Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management Ilham Madatov. The guest also visited the auditorium of the university and met with the students. The meetings also discussed the possibility of students’ internship in Russian health tourism institutions and conducting master classes in this area.
