The development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan creates conditions for stability and security in the South Caucasus and the Caspian region.

Today, we characterize the Azerbaijani-Russian relations as a strategic partnership. In recent years, relations between Russia and Azerbaijan have been developing steadily.

Regular meetings between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia determine the multi-vector nature of our relations and give impetus to the development of relations in almost all areas.

The meetings held during the official visit of the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva to Moscow on November 21-24, 2019, the opening of the Azerbaijani pavilion at the 10th Azerbaijan-Russia Interregional Forum showed that relations between our countries were possible due to strategic partnership, good neighborliness and sincere friendship.

The most pleasant event that took place during that visit was the presentation of the “Order of Friendship” to Mehriban Aliyeva for her services in the development of bilateral cooperation. The award, presented by Russian President Vladimir Putin, is due to the First Vice President’s great contribution to cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.

We are confident that the agreements reached at the tenth Russia-Azerbaijan forum will further strengthen the friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking about Russia-Azerbaijan economic relations, Musayev said that Azerbaijan has established economic relations with more than 70 regions of the Russian Federation. At present, about 700 enterprises with Russian capital are registered in Azerbaijan. There are about 140 interstate and intergovernmental agreements between Russia and Azerbaijan.

At present, joint projects are being implemented in engineering, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, transport and other fields. In particular, the SOCAR Polymer has been built, the Agrochemical Plant is being modernized, and KamAZ trucks and Ural cars are being assembled at the Ganja Automobile Plant.
