A meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation on July 6 with a delegation led by Deputy Governor of East Azerbaijan (Tabriz) for Economic Affairs Ali Jahangiri. President of Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation Mammad Musayev expressed his appreciation with the delegation from the friendly country and gave detailed information to the guests about business opportunities in our country, work done to achieve sustainable economic development, favourable conditions for attracting foreign investment to the country, as well as Azerbaijan’s broad access to the CIS, Turkish and European markets, logistics infrastructure.

Ali Jahangiri congratulated Azerbaijan on its victory in the 44-day war and noting that the liberation of our territories created new opportunities for economic relations between the two countries. He said that Tabriz has historically been a city of artisans and has about 4,000 factories, as well as 27,000 small and medium-sized businesses. Jahangiri shared his views on the great economic and investment potential of the region and Iran in general, increasing trade turnover between the two countries by creating joint ventures between Azerbaijani and Iranian entrepreneurs and the possibility of exporting these products to third countries in the future.

In this context, the guests were informed about the activities of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, of which the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation is a member, and access to about 30 countries, as well as the Russian market through this platform.

A.Jahangiri make proposals on holding an exhibition and sale fair of Iranian and Azerbaijani products in Khodaafarin, creation of a joint free market zone in the future and organization of a business mission to Tabriz. The meeting continued with a discussion of issues of mutual interest.

Thereafter, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation and the Tabriz Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Mines. The memorandum includes such goals as identifying industries for joint activities, expanding cooperation and identifying potential opportunities for joint projects.
