Within the framework of the visit, a number of organizational issues related to the “Sustainable Agriculture Forum” planned to be held in Baku with the support of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development, under the organization of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation and KOBIA, were discussed.

The purpose of this international forum, which is planned to be held on an annual basis, is to present Baku as the capital of Sustainable Agriculture in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to create a permanent mechanism for promoting investment opportunities in the field of Sustainable Agriculture in Azerbaijan and throughout the OIC world, and within the framework of the OIC system, as well as to contribute to the establishment of trade relations between Azerbaijan and the rest of the world, as well as to the strengthening of entrepreneurs and Small and Medium Enterprises.

The Forum will create a global platform to share best practices and innovations in sustainable agriculture and its major impact on climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts, contributing to climate resilience, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting sustainable development worldwide.

In the meeting held between Mr. Yousef Hassan Khalawi, Secretary General of Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development, and Mr. Mammad Musayev, President of Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, the developing cooperative relations between the Chamber and the Confederation were discussed in detail. The successful activity of the Azerbaijani stand at the “Halal Forum” held in the holy city of Makkah in January 2024 was touched upon.

It should be noted that the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development is currently represented in 57 member countries. The territory of the member countries is more than 31.8 million square kilometers. These countries account for 6.2% of the world’s land area.

The population of the member countries is more than 1 billion 900 million people, which means 23.8% of the world population.

The gross domestic product of the member countries of the Chamber is more than 9 trillion dollars. This is 9% of the global gross domestic product.
