On April 28, the Second National Accountants Forum started its work. The forum is held with the support of the Ministry of Taxes, National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chamber of Auditors, Economic Resources Research, Azerbaijan Association of Accountants and Risk Professionals (ARPA), Association of Professional Financial Managers of Azerbaijan (APFM), Economic Research and Training Center, Young Accountants Union, Azerbaijan Bank Training Center (ABTC) and Azerbaijan University.

The Forum deals with the issues, including accounting, as well as tax legislation, informing the participants about the innovations and their essence in the respective legislation, the existing problems based on mutual exchange of views and the mutual discussion of ways to solve them, and the joint research of the possibilities of applying modern international experiences.

Speaking at the opening of the II National Accountants Forum, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mammad Musayev gave speech in the main directions of the economic policy carried out in Azerbaijan. It was noted improving and increasing transparency among the complex measures envisaged in the “Strategic road map for the national economy and key sectors of the economy”, which defines the short, medium and long-term development goals of the Azerbaijani economy. In this regard, it is worth mentioning that issues related to strengthening financial control, financial and tax discipline in the country, and the high level of accountability and transparency in the use of financial resources based on international standards are praiseworthy.

Deputy Minister of Taxes Sahir Mammadkhanov said that it is very useful to discuss the current challenges faced by the national accounting and tax system, effective steps to bring financial, accounting, audit work in the country to world standards. S.Mammadkhanov informed the forum participants on the reforms being implemented in the tax system. It was noted that ensuring transparency regarding taxpayers, supporting taxpayers in full and timely manner, expanding the fight against tax evasion, and continuing application of new information technologies in the tax system are key issues ahead.

Gasim Gasimov, First Deputy Executive Director, Fuad Kerimov, Gilan Holding Board Member, Zakir Nuriyev, Chairman of Azerbaijan Bank Association, Jamal Ibish, Rector of Işık University, Namik Jalilov, Director of Shamakhi Astrophysics Observatory named after N. Tusi, Dean of the State Finance University of Russia Vladimir Avdysky attended the first plenary session. Speakers expressed their confidence that the National Accounts Forum will be a platform for new challenges in the economic sector.

The Forum continued in different sections and discussed the current situation and problems in accounting, tax legislation and accounting, the role of education and certification in applying international financial reporting standards, accounting problems in commercial organizations, contemporary challenges in accounting software. presentations and speeches were presented to the participants.
